FCF Stay in Sport Grants - Winter 2019

The Fleurieu Community Foundation works closely with local sporting clubs on the Fleurieu to ensure our young people remain engaged with their community through sport participation.

The Stay in Sport grants aim to provide assistance to junior sports participants on the Fleurieu, who would otherwise drop out of playing sport in their communities due to disadvantage or financial hardship, and who are unable to afford compulsory club fees, uniforms &/or sports equipment.

The objective of the program is to encourage continuity in community engagement and participation. The program focuses on inclusivity in sports for all young people regardless of ability and financial means.

It is important to understand that it is the sporting club that must apply on behalf of all young athletes at their club who are not in a position to fully fund the financial requirements of their involvement. Individual players and/or their families are welcome to approach the Foundation to clarify eligibility for Stay in Sport but it will be the club who makes the application.

There are two grant rounds every year. The winter grants round is open through April-May. The summer grants round is open through October-November.
